Thanksgiving Day has come and gone, but this entire season is a time to give thanks. I am grateful for dogs who make our lives whole. I am grateful for CGC Evaluators and instructors who teach dog owners how to have better lives with their dogs.
And I am grateful for all the dog owners who take the time to train their dogs and give them a wonderful life. George Gwaltney is one such dog owner. Mr. Gwaltney’s story is exceptional in that he is 93-years old. He’ll tell you it’s never too late to train your dog.
Lee Hendricks was the trainer who had the pleasure of teaching Mr. Gwaltney and his Chihuahua, Nala, the CGC skills. For 6-weeks, Mr. Gwaltney attended training sessions every Thursday afternoon.
And then, on September 18, with Lee and CGC Evaluator Helen Noles, George Gwaltney and Nala passed the CGC test—fair and square.
Thank you Lee and Helen. And thank you, Mr. Gwaltney, for being an inspiration to us all.
