Are you writing about AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy or Canine Good Citizen? This doesn’t just mean books; it can include materials for your students, single articles (long or short), blogs, magazines, newspaper stories and more.
If you have written anything about STAR or CGC, it’s time to get those entries ready for the annual writing contest of the Dog Writers Association of America! You don’t have to be a DWAA member to enter the contest, although we hope you would join. The awards will be announced in February 2013, the weekend before Westminster in New York City. You don’t have to be present to win.
There is a special award in the DWAA contest for CGC and STAR Puppy writing. You’ll get a beautiful plaque and a cash award of $500.
The deadline for the contest is August 31, 2012.
For an entry form and more information about the contest, see: http://www.dwaa.org/writing-competition-rules-regular-2012.php
If there’s an aspiring writer in you, DWAA is a good place to meet other writers and people who can get you on the road to your first book deal.
