At Pawsitively Unleashed in Custer, Wisconsin, Renea Dahms is working hard to train puppies to have good manners. Her training focuses on the well-behaved family pet rather than competiton and as you can see in her video, the basics of good canine manners can be taught to puppies in a short period of time.
In this video, Renea is using a food reward to teach four puppies to sit. She gives a treat contigent on sitting. No matter how cute the white puppy is or how much he begs, he does not get the food until he does the desired behavior (sit, and later, down). He catches on quickly.
Renea has a nice, calm training style. She manages four puppies with ease and in this session, uses no leashes.

Very cool. I appreciated, particularly, how calm Renea remained. Teaching puppies to take food calm while in the presence of others is a great skill– very inspiring.
